Easter Openings 2025
2025

Easter is almost here and the Accademia Gallery is having some special openings right around the corner for the occasion. The museum is generally open on Sundays, so it will be open, with regular hours 8.15am-6.50pm, on Easter Sunday, April 20th, and, in addition, it will have a special opening on Monday, April 21st (when it is normally closed). Entrance will be at usual admittance fees.
In addition, the Accademia will also be open on Friday, April 25th, on Italy’s Liberation Day (it is a national holiday). To celebrate the holiday, entrance will be free. The hours will also be 8.15am-6.50pm (last entrance at 6.20pm).
This is your chance to visit the internationally famous museum and see the largest collection of Michelangelo’s sculptures in one location – not just the David, but also the Prisoners and Pietà di Palestrina – as well as Lorenzo Bartolini’s large collection of gesso models, medieval and Renaissance Florentine paintings and some of the oldest pianos and violins in the Musical Instrument museum.
Please note that on April 25, with free entrance, you CANNOT book tickets ahead of time. You just need to go to the museum and get in line to visit the museum. On the other days, however, it is recommended you book ahead if you can.
